In these samples I have created alternative surfaces to print on in which to show my theme. The top image is dyed with discharge printing over the top. The middle image is my screen print onto felt which I think is successful and will probably use in my final presentation. The bottom image is of some paper I made ready to print on although it may be to delicate to do this.

SHANNON'S SAMPLING
I created two screen prints, one from the Ronald Searle illustrations and one from a photocopy of my sheet work to use on a second layer of sheer fabric. I sampled both on different fabrics.

JAMIE-LEIGH'S SAMPLES IN PROGRESS
Here are some of my samples in progress with technical notes and annotation. The bunting is a possible final show idea to represent vintage street parties. The bottom image is a screen print onto felt, out of my samples this is my favourite so I have made a larger version for my final print.

SARAH'S DEVELOPMENT
After developing the childhood theme further I set about creating a screen print. I wanted a large print to stretch the width of my fabric. Once the screen was made I started sampling.

EMILY'S SAMPLES
In the print studio I completed loads of samples tyring out alternative fabrics such as felt that I made (see the second image). I tested puff binder(image three) to see what effect that would have with my prints but I preferred using pigment in discharge paste over a procion dyed background(final two images). I also tried out a wide range of colourways, my favourite is the pink and purple ones in the penultimate photo.

BEVERLEY'S SHEETWORK
For my Final Major Project I looked at the body, taking inspiration from images of cells and Leonardo da Vinci's observational drawings.
I used Alice Kettle as one of my artists.
I hope that I can create a garment with my designs for my final piece.

BETH'S SHEETWORK
My project is about different peoples obsessions merged with surrealism. The artists that influenced me the most were Salvador Dali and Michael Hussar. the pictures above show some of my sheet work , you will see a theme of hands and eyes through out my project. The eyes indicate one of my friends obessession with looking at herself, instead of drawing her fully i picked out her eyes because she sees through her eyes. The hands indicate my obsession with having to always get my hands dirty when I am doing my artwork, otherwise I feel like I haven't done a good days work.

HEIDI'S SHEETWORK
'Out of this World' is the theme of my project. Taking inspiration from fairytale stories and mythical media such as Harry Potter, I set about designing a print that combined imagery from everyday normal life.
EMILY'S DEVELOPMENT
I developed my ideas forward combining the lettering, structures and bright colours together. The artists I researched were Frank Stella, Wendy Dolan and Andy Warhol.
TAMMI'S KODA-TRACE
This is me creating my koda trace to colour seperate my screens for screen printing. This resulted in me having 4 screens that could use up to 6 different colours all for 1 design.

SHANNON'S SHEETWORK
The cartoonist who created St Trinians, Ronald Searle, was the inspiration for my project. I set about taking photos of my classmates and then illustrating them in Searle's style. These would be the basis for my print that I wanted overlayed on each other and made into a dress.
